M. Khurram Baig was born in the city of Hyderabad, India. His family immigrated to the United States in 1979 and Khurram has called Georgia home ever since. Khurram grew up in Stone Mountain and graduated from Redan High School in 1996, where he was an active student leader. Because of his strong ties to the area, Khurram decided to stay close to home for college and attended Emory University.
At Emory, Khurram developed a keen interest in the law due to a strong desire to perform work that benefited others. Among the honors he received at Emory was his induction into the school’s Hall of Fame for student leadership and his selection as the Student Speaker at graduation. After graduating from Emory in 2000, Khurram turned down admissions to numerous law schools to attend the prestigious Howard University School of Law. Drawn to Howard for its rich tradition of social justice, Khurram focused his energies on fighting for his own traditionally under-served Muslim and South Asian communities.
After graduating from Howard in 2003, Khurram spent eight years practicing law with some of Georgia’s best legal minds. During that time, he not only gained expertise in his current areas of practice, but more importantly, Khurram learned to view himself as a problem-solver. In 2011, Khurram decided it was time to answer a larger question for himself – why is he practicing law? The answer to that question lead him to form The Baig Firm in 2012.
The mission of The Baig Firm since its first day was, and still remains, two-fold: to care deeply about clients and be their problem solver. This means pursuing approaches that are holistic and in the client’s best interest. Khurram’s practice today focuses on several areas, but he has especially developed a reputation as the “go-to” attorney for small and mid-size businesses seeking External General Counsel services. Khurram currently services more than a dozen businesses in this capacity, which allows him to deliver fuller and more meaningful legal services on a consistent basis. In addition to his Business law work, Khurram's work encompassess the following additional practice areas: Civil Litigation, Commercial Law, Real Estate Law, Construction Law, Non-Profit Law, Tort and Negligence Litigation, Criminal Defense, Family Law and Administrative Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

I take a holistic approach to the practice of law. For me, the holistic practice of law upholds that all aspects of people's needs - physical, social, and mental - should be taken into account and seen as a whole. Using a holistic approach, all potential contributing factors that may affect a person's case are taken into consideration when assessing a person's overall legal situation.

4695 Chabot Dr, Pleasanton
I moved to the United States from India when I was a young child. My parents got divorced in the late early 1990s, where divorce was not heard of in the South Asian culture. My parents' divorce instilled in me a passion for family law, with a commitment to doing what is best for the entire family, not just one party. I understand the stigma that is placed on divorce in various cultures, and more specifically, how divorce can affect children. As a result, my litigation style is centered on looking at the whole picture and getting the best results for my clients, which at times is not just a financial gain for the parties involved. I also place a great deal of emphasis on co-parenting and safeguarding the children in order to help families cope with the emotions of a divorce.

What does one look for when trying to decide on an attorney?
For me, I always try to think of the way I thought about the Law/legal proceedings before I went to law school.
Scared, sometimes uninformed, and facing the maze-like structure of our legal system, what kind of attorney would I turn to?
I'd like to think that I practice law to cater to people who don't want to be coddled by their attorney, who want tough but clear representation.
As such, I strive to explain exactly 1) what is currently going in in common sense terminology, 2) what I see as the best course of action to achieve our desired outcome, and 3) then have an informed discussion about your thoughts/concerns regarding this.
Shouldn't you have an attorney who cares about you and your family, who believes in you?
Give us a call for a free consultation today.
You won't be sorry that you did...
