Changing address after landing

Changing address after landing

Changing your residential address is one of the major concerns after landing in Canada for every single person.

One of the advantages of being a permanent resident in Canada is that you can reside and do your official work anywhere in the country, no restrictions! However, your permanent resident card (also called a PR card) that serves as secure proof of your residential status in Canada, must have your current address on it. If you move or change your address, you will also have to change your address on your permanent resident card, because your residential details are also mentioned on the Permanent Resident Card.

IF YOU HAVE JUST ARRIVED IN CANADA AND RECEIVED YOUR ADDRESS

There are 2 different situations here:-

Already a Permanent Resident and willing to change address.

A Permanent Resident who has just landed in Canada

Our ultimate focus is on the above highlighted situation. A permanent resident who has just landed in Canada will submit an Address Notification to Citizenship and immigration Canada.

In most cases, you can use the online service. The changes should appear in your file within 5 business days.
