Cyrus S. Niakan exclusively works on behalf of the injured and their families. He handles a wide variety of personal injury and wrongful death cases, from automobile accident and negligent security cases to those cases involving manufacturing and design defects, throughout Florida and across the United States. Cyrus has litigated successfully against almost every major international automobile and tire manufacturer, and has litigated a diverse spectrum of complex product liability cases from defective medical devices to defective ladders. Cyrus’ tenacity and zeal has resulted in numerous multi-million dollar recoveries for his clients, including verdicts and settlements totaling $20,000,000.
Cyrus immigrated to the U.S. as a child and taught himself how to speak, read, and write English. He went on to earn his B.A. in English literature and B.S. in Molecular & Cellular Biology from the University of Washington.
Cyrus attended law school at the University of Arizona on an academic scholarship. After graduation, he began his legal career as a defense attorney with a Miami law firm. Before representing the injured, Cyrus litigated cases on behalf of some of the nation’s largest insurance companies and corporations. In those years, he learned how insurance companies and corporations evaluate claims and the strategies they use to defend cases. He now uses those invaluable insights to defend the rights of clients going up against insurance and corporate giants.
Cyrus’ talent, hard work, and high ethical standards have been recognized among his peers. Cyrus has been selected by The National Trial Lawyers as among the "Top 40 Under 40"; Florida Super Lawyers "Rising Star" for the last five years (distinction given to less than 2.5 percent of lawyers in the state); Florida Trend "Legal Elite Up & Comer" (distinction given to only 132 lawyers statewide); and South Florida Legal Guide's "Top Up & Comer."
Outside the courtroom, Cyrus is active in the community. He volunteers with Take Stock in Children – Palm Beach County, Misioneros del Camino, and other charitable organizations, and has served on the Board of Directors for 211 of Palm Beach County & Treasure Coast. Further, Cyrus has been asked to lecture and present seminars on expert witness discovery, trucking litigation, insurance coverage, and trial evidence.
Cyrus lives in West Palm Beach with his wife Luisa. He speaks Farsi and Spanish.
