Alfred L. Buchanan, a principal of Michaels & May, P.C., began the practice of law in 1990, following a career in law enforcement. Before Michaels & May, P.C., Mr. Buchanan was a shareholder with Fedota Childers & May, P.C. (1999-2004), and an associate with Lord Bissell & Brook (1992-1999) and Phelan, Pope, & John, Ltd. Insurance Coverage Litigation Mr. Buchanan has devoted most of his legal career toward representing insurers and reinsurers, both domestic and foreign, in complex litigation and arbitration proceedings. Education and Background Mr. Buchanan received his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1990, graduating first in his class. Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Buchanan served seven years in law enforcement, including five years holding elected public office as the head of his agency.
