Little over 2 hours from the city is Rhinebeck especially designed if you want to get out of the bustle of the city but still stay in a place that offers culture. A variety of fine restaurants, a small cinema, bookstores, a vintage winery owned by Paul Rudd and a boutique ice cream place. Quiet, lots of greenery and nice people.

Martha's Vineyard

It’s beautiful. Friday, after work drive to Quonset, Rhode Island. Stay the night there. Saturday morning take Rhode Island Fast Ferry to Oaks Buff. 1.5 hours ferry ride to Martha’s Vineyard. Enjoy the day in the island. If you want, you can stay there, or not. Take the return ferry in the evening to Quonset and if you don’t mind driving at night, then you can be back home Saturday late night.
