Providing quality and successful legal representation to clients charged with felonies or misdemeanors since 2004. It is my responsibility and privilege to be the voice of my clients who desire the peace of mind of a personally tailored estate plan or need their rights protected when facing a felony or misdemeanor. I know that if you have been arrested for a misdemeanor or felony offense, this can be one of the most difficult times in your life. I will guide you through this ordeal and strive to protect your rights by providing the highest quality legal assistance. I believe that it is my responsibility and privilege to be the voice of my clients who need help defending against misdemeanor or felony charges. In addition to helping individuals who are accused of any of the crimes listed above including driving under the influence (DUI), I can help you if you have been charged with many other misdemeanor or felony crimes. I am sensitive to the fact that clients facing charges for driving under the influence face both substantial penalties and potential problems with finding work in the future. As a member of the California DUI Lawyers Association I have represented clients charged with DUI in the Sacramento area for years. I have vigorously worked toward minimizing the impact a DUI will have on clients’ lives both in court and with the DMV.

Ehsan F Chowdhry

Ehsan F Chowdhry, ESQ is the owner of E F CHOWDHRY LAW PRACTICE, LLC, a law firm exclusively dedicated to statewide criminal defense, juvenile law, municipal-traffic law and white collar crime.  He is licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He has court admissions for the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He is honored to have been named to New Jersey Governor Philip (Phil) D. Murphy’s (then Governor Elect) Transition Team as a Co-Chair for the Law & Justice Committee, Social Justice Subcommittee and previously as a member of his select Law & Public Safety Working Group. He attended Rutgers College of Rutgers the State University of New Jersey, graduated from Monmouth University with his B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) while attaining Dean’s List, earned his J.D. (Juris Doctor) from Widener University School of Law while attaining Dean's List, served as a member of the Trial Advocacy Honor Society and as the President of the Minority Law Students Association (MLSA). He also was the recipient of the Most Promising Civil Litigator Award, The Center for Forensic Economic Studies Excellence in Litigation Award and a semi-finalist in the Hugh B. Pearce Trial Advocacy Competition. He was a Certified Legal Intern for the Pennsylvania Civil Law Clinic and a Legal Research Assistant to Professor John L. Gedid summarizing the Administrative Procedure Act to be utilized by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws (NCCUSL).  Thereafter, he earned his LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree in Trial Advocacy from the nationally ranked program at Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law. Both law degrees included relevant coursework to his exclusive field in criminal law, including Advanced Criminal Procedure, Advanced Evidence, Advanced Trial Methods, Criminal Law, the Federal Rules of Evidence, the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program (ITAP), Juvenile Law and Pennsylvania Criminal Practice.      After graduating from law school and during his LL.M. degree pursuit, he commenced a state judicial clerkship with the Honorable Vincent J. Grasso, A.J.S.C. (retired) that initially began in the New Jersey Superior Court, Law Division, Criminal Part. Subsequently, he became sworn in as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office in the Litigation Section of the Grand Jury Unit. From there he transferred to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office where he served in the Megan’s Law Unit, Trial Team, Grand Jury Unit and the Juvenile Investigations Unit.  He has investigated and prosecuted thousands of cases.  He was temporarily sworn in as a Special Deputy Attorney General and has completed Class #48 of the intensive New Jersey Attorney General’s Advocacy Institute Top Gun School Investigating and Prosecuting Gang, Gun and Drug cases. He has rounded out a decade of state, county and municipal criminal law experience for the government in pursuit of victims and their rights and more recently for the defense, entering his thirteenth year and has handled everything from murder to speeding violations. A quote Ehsan used to adhere to as an Assistant Prosecutor and that he applies as a defense attorney today was from Associate Justice George A. Sutherland of the United States Supreme Court.  He was born in England and during his years on the court, India was property of the British and Pakistan was not formed until 1947.  In Berger v. United States, 295 U.S. 78, 88 (1935) Justice Sutherland eloquently wrote: “The United States Attorney is the representative not of an ordinary party to a controversy, but of a sovereignty whose obligation to govern impartially is as compelling as its obligation to govern at all, and whose interest, therefore, in a criminal prosecution is not that it shall win a case, but that justice shall be done. As such, he is in a peculiar and very definite sense the servant of the law, the two-fold aim of which is that guilt shall not escape or innocence suffer. He may prosecute with earnestness and vigor -- indeed, he should do so. But, while he may strike hard blows, he is not at liberty to strike foul ones. It is as much his duty to refrain from improper methods calculated to produce a wrongful conviction as it is to use every legitimate means to bring about a just one.” As a result of his jury and bench trial experience, requisite contested matters, continuing legal education credits, judicial | peer review and passage of the state’s written exam, Ehsan has been certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Criminal Trial Attorney and his recertification is currently pending. Moreover, as of June 1, 2018, he is only 1 of 4 attorneys in the state of New Jersey who is nationally certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) as a Criminal Trial Advocate. He has also been designated by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) as a “Master Advocate” and "Advocate." Ehsan's awards and honors include, but are not limited to, receiving the New Jersey Law Journal's New Leader of the Bar Award for 2017 and being the only known solo attorney on the list (previously 40 under 40), the Professional Lawyer of the Year Award for 2015 from the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) in conjunction with the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law, becoming the first government attorney to receive the Ten Leaders of Government Prosecutors Award and under his presidency of the New Jersey Muslim Lawyers Association (NJMLA) co-accepting for the organization the Social Justice Award from the Muslim American Council (MAC).  To further honor NJMLA and his presidency he is purchasing a commemorative brick from the New Jersey State Bar Foundation to be placed at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick.

Saif H. Rahman focuses his law practice on criminal defense which he has been practicing exclusively for over 12 years. Before starting his own office, Saif served as a Deputy Public Defender in the County of Orange for over 7 years. During that time, he zealously litigated and advocated thousands of criminal cases with successful results, becoming a very well known and respected attorney throughout the courtrooms of Southern California. Saif also regularly volunteers his time and does pro bono work for the Public Law Center of Orange County.     Saif’s ability to connect with and passionately represent his clients comes as no surprise to those who know him.  Although he grew up in southern California, Saif was fortunate to travel and live abroad throughout his youth, developing relationships with people of many diverse backgrounds and cultures, molding him into the caring and understanding advocate he is today. With a family legacy rooted deep in medicine and science, including a Nobel Laureate as a grandfather, Saif enrolled at UC Riverside’s Biomedical program with the goal of becoming a doctor.   “I initially wanted to become a doctor to help those in need, but I quickly realized that with my travels, background, and ability to connect with people, I could better serve people in another way. Just as important as ones health, so is their freedom, fairness, and right against injustice.”   After graduating with honors from UC Riverside, Saif earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Southern California School of Law, where he received many awards and distinctions, including serving as the president of the Street Law Foundation, where he provided guidance and advice to inner-city school students.   Away from the courtroom Saif is an avid car enthusiast and amateur race car driver. On any given weekend he can usually be found at various car shows or a local track with his sons enjoying some laps.   Education Juris Doctotrate - University of Southern California 2005 Bachelor of Arts, Political Science and Russian Studies - UC Riverside 2002 Cum Laude

I was born in Cleveland Ohio, but raised in Naples, FL. While in college, I was in the Air Force ROTC program and, after graduation, I was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force. While on active duty, I completed my masters degree in international relations.      After 4 1/2 years, I separated with an Honorable Discharge and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.      I then took a job in Orlando supervising the residential construction process of some pretty amazing houses for David Weekley Homes. My first community was Baldwin Park. Anyone familiar with Orlando knows that Baldwin Park was a Navy base which was demolished around 2000. It was then sold to a developer and is now a beautiful master-plan community.      As I was always curious about law school, I took my LSAT in the fall of 2006 and applied to Georgia State's College of Law and was accepted to start in the fall of 2007. Going back to being a broke college student at age 31 was not an easy transition. So, I took an overload of classes for 3 straight semesters so I could graduate an entire semester ahead of my peers. After graduating in December 2009, I took the bar exam in February 2010, and received my results in May 2010 and began working at David West & Associates shortly thereafter.      While with David, my eyes were opened to how calloused and unjust our criminal "justice" system usually is. Law enforcement is usually rewarded and promoted based on arrests made and citations issued. Prosecutors are rewarded and promoted based on conviction percentages. As such, they usually don't care if the accused is guilty or not. Furthermore, judges are re-elected for being "tough on crime". To make matters worse, most criminal defense lawyers care far more about the money than they do their clients.      In April 2012, I decided it was time to learn the civil side of the law. Since that time, I have specialized in personal injury cases mainly stemming from auto accidents and injuries sustained on common carriers. I also now have experience defending Eight Amendment excessive force cases as well as other Civil Rights cases. I have also been on the other side of the table as our firm does take plaintiff cases in many of these areas.

Ginny Harjot Kaur Walia

My name is Ginny Walia and I am a trial lawyer. I have handled hundreds of cases throughout the California criminal and federal courts of the greater San Francisco Bay Area and Central Valley. I have an extensive jury trial record, competitive attitude and a willingness to fight for my clients. I started my career with a rigourous trial training program at the San Francisco Public Defender's office. I successfully handled my first criminal jury trial against a seasoned prosecutor ten years ago and haven't looked back. Since then I have handled numerous jury trials including misdemeanors and serious felonies. I strongly believe in an accused's right to representation against charges by federal and state governments. I have commented as an legal analyst in well publicized, high profile criminal cases on national television channels. Specifically, I commented as a legal analyst on the DNA evidence that was a part of the Scott Peterson case and the Natalie Holloway case. I have also written over 60 federal immigration appeals in the last decade. If you have been arrested, charged or are being investigated by state or federal authorities, you need an intelligent and a savvy defense attorney on your side. At Ginny Walia Law Offices, our team will work hard and smart to defend your rights.
