I treat common problems, including: depression anxiety (panic attacks, performance anxiety, test anxiety) insomnia attention deficit-hyperactivity Many patients have problems with work, relationships, and identity that may not fit diagnoses like: work stress and frustration work-life imbalance (especially for people in finance or consulting) low self esteem difficulty adjusting to chronic medical conditions setting expectations for new parents transitions to retirement problems with acculturation LGBTQ concerns (identity, coming out) When you come in, we'll complete a diagnostic assessment and treatment plan. We'll discuss if you'd like to set up a doctor-patient relationship. If so, I'll ask you to review my practice policies in full. I'll also let you know if someone else is better suited to work with you. Please don't book if you: - need to pay by insurance (I only accept cash or check at the time of each visit) - need after-hours visits (I cannot guarantee this) - want completed paperwork outside of visits (I have to protect confidentiality with 3rd parties) - want refills outside of appointments (it may be convenient, but it's not standard of care) - need a DOE independent psychiatric evaluation My goal is to provide patient-centered, compassionate care within ethical, legal, and medical guidelines

*DR. SINGH IS AN OUT OF NETWORK PROVIDER, AND THOSE WITH PRIVATE INSURANCES CAN OFTEN BE REIMBURSED THROUGH THEIR PLAN.* **ADMINISTRATIVE NOTE: Kindly note I will mark "confirmed" on ZocDoc when you request an appointment, but we may have to cancel the appointment if you are unable to reply to my (separately) sent introductory email within 24 hours. Thank you kindly for your understanding! My thoughts on the wonderful field I'm honored to be a part of ... The practice of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, as well as Adult Psychiatry, is as exciting as it is varied. This specialty is truly one of the last bastions in modern medicine that allows the practitioner to 'connect' with the patient, and one where the value of the patient's input is not underestimated. Understanding the impact of one's life experiences, and the interaction with a person's biology and temperament is an art that few have the opportunity to practice on a routine basis. A careful evaluation can reveal several areas of focus for medication and therapy during the treatment of the individual. It is this art that defines the profession of Psychiatry - especially Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr. Tejal Kaur, MD

Dashed border
Guided by my belief that authentic, meaningful relationships drive high quality care, I founded graymatters medical practice, where I have been fortunate to work with colleagues who share my passion and vision. All of our clinicians are either Columbia or NYU trained, board certified, clinicians with broad training in psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. We communicate regularly so that we can benefit from a team approach where we are continually learning from each other. We partner with our patients and families to first treat psychiatric symptoms, and then move into a preventative approach. We help our patients, both kids or adults, to discover and build on their own strengths, educate them about the science behind how their brains work, and then provide them with the necessary tools to become their own health expert. We refuse to believe that my patients cannot get better, and work tirelessly with you to help you build a better life. We don't just treat mental illness, but instead, promote wellness to empower patients to prevent mental health challenges and build better, lives. Please note: I am not taking on new patients at this time, and any bookings through zocdoc would be with another clinician in our practice. Please see our website for more details on how we work. Also, please note that we are out-of-network for insurance companies, but many of our patients with good out-of-network benefits are reimbursed 60-100% of our fee from their insurance company.
