Knowledgeable, Objective & Caring Family Law Attorney.  I believe in quality legal representation and individualized communication with my clients.
I live in Brooklyn, am married and have a son. When I'm not in the office I enjoy the outdoors.  I love astronomy, photograph, biking, snowshoeing, rock scrabling, and most of all hiking, especially in the mountains.  My son and I am a members of the Catskills 3500 Club.  That means that we have hiked all 35 peaks of the Catkills that are over 3,500 feet, and we need 4 of them again in the winter.    When you visit my office you will notice my love of the outdoors and nature.  From the music in my waiting room (and if you are on hold on the the telephone) to the photos that I have taken that are on the walls of my office and the plants.   I became a lawyer in order to help others.  This is one of the ways in which I try to make a positive difference in the world. When you retain our office to represent you, you become more than a client, you become a member of our extended family.  That means that any time you have a legal question, you are just a phone call, email or office visit away from a free consultation to answer your question.

Three principles guide my practice.  First, listen carefully to clients, and help them express what's really going on in their lives.  Second, find the least conflict-oriented path to a resolution.  Finally, pull out all the stops in pursuing that path.  Leave no stone unturned in developing a case.     I practiced business law for two years before moving to family law in 1990. Since then, I have represented state agencies, foster children, juvenile delinquents, parents, foster parents, adoptive parents, and adoption agencies.  I have worked in every aspect of family law, family mediation, and collaborative law.  I have worked with Native Alaskan tribal courts and State Superior Courts all over Alaska.  I have spent as much time in a courtroom as anyone in the state, but I only litigate when there is no good alternative.   That would be the case where the other party is dishonest, or where children are at risk of imminent harm.  Otherwise, there are great alternatives such as mediation and collaborative law.  Collaborative law gives all the support you expect from a traditional attorney-client relationship, but adds open communication within a multidisciplinary team all focused on settlement.   You may be surprised what can be accomplished without going to court.   Either way, my office can help you decide what you want, and achieve it.
Married 24 years.  I have one daughter who is a Senior at Yale University.   My son passed away from Tuberous Sclerosis in 1997.   I don't believe you can understand custody law until you have kids.  Until then you cannot know what kids mean to parents.
Roseline D. Feral is a knowledgeable San Diego criminal defense lawyer who has been serving Southern California residents for over 30 years. She also provides representation in the areas of family law and restraining orders. Attorney Feral is known for her ability to handle complex cases and sensitively guide her clients through the legal process. Her goal is to resolve legal issues as efficiently as possible and minimize their impact on the lives of her clients. People in the San Diego area may be charged with crimes such as DUI, drug possession or trafficking, assault, theft, sex offenses, domestic violence, or fraud, among others. Attorney Feral believes that if the prosecution does not offer any concessions to her client or until such time as an acceptable offer has been extended, the case likely should move forward to a trial at which she will zealously advocate for her client’s rights. Having tried more than 100 jury trials, she understands the nuances of courtroom procedures and can tailor her strategy to a client’s particular situation. It is important to remember that virtually any criminal charge must be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. The prosecution must meet this high burden with regard to every element of the offense. In many cases, a skilled criminal lawyer can defeat a charge by undermining the credibility of the prosecution’s witnesses, establishing an alibi for their client, challenging the admissibility of evidence, showing that law enforcement violated constitutional protections, or proving that their client lacked the required intent to commit the crime, among other strategies.Family law relates to matters concerning divorce, custody and visitation, child and spousal support, and property division. While Attorney Feral initially honed her skills as a litigator, she is a strong negotiator as well. As a San Diego divorce attorney, she understands that negotiations may lead to outcomes that better serve a client’s long-term interests and allow them to move on with their lives. However, getting a court involved may be necessary in some circumstances, and she is ready to advocate for her clients tenaciously when that happens. For example, spouses often dispute the amount or duration of spousal support payments that are made under a separation or divorce order. The idea of spousal support is to permit the less-earning spouse to maintain the level of living to which they were accustomed during the marriage. A number of factors may go into determining whether and how much spousal support will be awarded, including the length of the marriage, the marital standard of living, tax issues, each party’s educational level, and each party’s age and health. If you have been accused of a crime, you are contemplating or going through a divorce, or you need help concerning a restraining order, Roseline D. Feral has the skills and knowledge to protect your interests. She can represent people in Chula Vista, Coronado, Del Mar, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Escondido, Ramona, Rancho Santa Fe, San Marcos, La Jolla, Oceanside, Valley Center, and Vista, among other Southern California communities. AshLeigh knew from the time she was seven years old that she wanted to become an attorney.  In her mind an attorney was someone who spoke for others and helped others achieve goals they could not achieve alone.  She never once lost her passion for this career. After she graduated from high school, she went to the University of Alabama where she marched in the Color Guard in the Million Dollar Band.  After she graduated from undergraduate school, she attended Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from Cumberland in 2010 and immediately began working as an Associate for a Madison County local firm with over 20 years of experience in domestic legal work. While practicing at this firm, she gained a vast spectrum of experience in both litigation and drafting pleadings.  She is well versed in all pre-trial procedures including preliminary pleadings, research, depositions, brief writing, subsequent motions, discovery, and facilitating each client’s journey to the final disposition of their case. She has litigated in Madison, Marshall, Morgan, Limestone, Colbert, Jefferson, Shelby, Talladega, Blount, and Lawrence County. She is also certified as a Guardian Ad Litem. Her passion and goal as a GAL is that all children will be represented in actions that they are involved in through no fault of their own.  Children are put through a lot of pain and misery in the divorce process, and she thinks there should always be someone who is concerned for their best interests, and consequently, the family’s overall best interests. Sometimes their parents forget this during the divorce because they are emotionally drained.  On a different side, in many other situations outside of the domestic realm, children are neglected or forgotten, and she wants to be there for them, as their advocate. In AshLeigh’s spare time, she spends time with her long term boyfriend, and their two dogs, her somewhat neurotic chubby black lab Emma, and her ridiculous weimaraner, Lacy. AshLeigh is the co-owner of Dance Trance Huntsville Madison, which is a dance fitness facility located on the Emma & Lacy Huntsville-Madison line.  She is also a member of Dance Trance Birmingham, a locally owned dance fitness facility that is a sister studio to Dance Trance Huntsville Madison. She is very active in the Hoover Chamber of Commerce and the Birmingham Bar Association. She is also on the junior board for the Clay House and for CASA. Both of which are child related organizations that provide assistance to abused children.
