Olivier began his legal career with the Suffolk County District Attorney Office and was assigned to the District Court Bureau. He has prosecuted an array of misdemeanor offenses ranging from driving while intoxicated (DWI's) to larcenies and drug offenses. Olivier was quickly promoted to a felony division in the Domestic Violence Bureau. There he prosecuted both felony and misdemeanor offenses specific to domestic violence. Additionally, he conducted Grand Jury presentations, interviewed and advised police officers, victims and witnesses in regard to case evaluation, assessment and took numerous cases to trial. He was personally responsible for a caseload in excess of six hundred cases. After spending a year in this division, he made the decision that he could better serve the community as a private attorney.
