In 1993, after earning my J.D. from Emory, I worked for Rockdale County as an assistant district attorney. During my tenure with Rockdale County, I handled a variety of matters in Juvenile, Magistrate, State and Superior Courts. Additionally, I argued successfully before the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia. After serving in the Rockdale County District Attorney's Office, I spent four years with DeKalb County government and served as Chief Assistant Solicitor and Solicitor General, Pro Tempore. Additional responsibilities include employment law matters, appeals, media/public information, open records requests, case transfers, mental health court and bond issues. Since 2004, I returned to Rockdale to found and manage M. Qader A. Baig & Associates, LLC, and in 2009 I was appointed general counsel for Rockdale County on all legal matters facing the County, routinely draft and analyze policies, resolutions, and contracts and provides legal assistance for zoning, planning, tax appeals, and employment issues and serve as the prosecutor of all County ordinance violations in Rockdale Magistrate Court.
