Mr. Phillis concentrates his practice in the areas of tax, corporate and general business law. He assists clients in tax-efficient transaction planning, tax code compliance, not-for-profit formation and resolving tax disputes with taxing authorities at all levels. His diverse tax expertise allows him to assist clients in navigating a range of taxes including: personal, corporate, and partnership income taxation; gift taxation; trust and estate taxation; personal and real property taxation; retirement plan taxation; executive compensation taxation; and not-for-profit taxation.
Prior to joining DarrowEverett LLP, Mr. Phillis managed a successful practice focusing on resolving tax disputes with federal, state, and local taxing authorities, on behalf of individuals and not-for-profit entities, as well as debt settlement with private creditors. He also serves as a member of the Economic Development Board for the Town of Warren, where he brings his experience and dedication to economic growth to the public sector.
