Dr. Albert grew up in French Canada and graduated from the University of Laval medical school at 23 years old. He practiced family medicine and worked in the emergency room for 9 years before leaving Canada for Texas due to weariness from battling socialized medicine. His first home in Texas was Ballinger, where he had a very busy family practice, worked the emergency room in San Angelo, and owned and operated a vineyard and winery. He lived and worked in West Texas for the next 13 years until he moved to the Metroplex and started full-time in Emergency Medicine, where he worked for 6 years until attempting retirement. Apparently, he was not good at retirement and returned to family practice in 2005. He bought Texas Medical Home in 2007 with his Physician Assistant, Shandolyn Story. The practice grew so quickly they had to move to a larger location in 2011. The list of services provided at the clinic is extensive, and in addition to treating acute and chronic illnesses for men, women, and children, there is a long list of procedures performed as well. All the clinical personnel at the clinic, including Dr. Albert, speak both English and Spanish, and although Dr. Albert’s native language is French, after living in Texas for the past 32 years, he is now fluent in Texan as well.
His patients describe him as smart, funny, compassionate, and approachable. He doesn’t have much free time outside of work, but when he does, he enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, as well as driving fast cars, playing classical piano, and relaxing at the lake. His true passion in life is medicine, which is clear after you meet him, and he has no plans for attempting retirement again.
