I have practiced for over twenty-five years, working in both Southern and Northern California. I have also handled cases in the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the District of Nevada.   The focus of my practice is civil litigation. The range of my case work, which has involved all stages of pre-trial, trial, and appellate practice, has included environmental law, insurance coverage, insurance bad faith, personal and property damage, constitutional law, civil rights, and landlord-tenant issues.   I have also advised insurance companies, insureds, and independent insurance adjustors on issues of coverage and the covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and property owners on issues relating to sales agreements and deeds of trust.

Thanks for visiting my profile!  My law partners and I founded Dormer, Harpring & Gray to let us give each of our clients the kind of personal attention that simply cannot be had at a high-volume “mill-style” law firm. I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, the child of longtime Denver family lawyer Robert R. Dormer.  After graduating from Cherry Creek High School, I went to the University of California – Berkeley, for my bachelor's degree. I came home to attend law school, graduating from the University of Colorado School of Law.  During law school, I served as President of the Student Trial Lawyers Association, as well as the Public Interest Student Association’s Representative to the Student Bar Association, CU Law School’s student government.  I earned a spot on the law school’s traveling Mock Trial Team.  As a part of the trial team, I had the honor of representing CU Law School at three national-level trial competitions and receiving critique from some of the nation’s top trial lawyers and judges. Of my entire law school record, however, I was most shaped by my tenure as a student attorney in CU Law School’s Defense Clinic.  The Defense Clinic gave me the opportunity to represent criminal defendants for free, including those facing combinations of both criminal and immigration charges.  It was this experience that gave me my passion for trial work, especially for those most in need. For just about three years both near the end of and after law school, I worked for an extraordinarily busy Denver-area law firm.  I have represented numerous clients at all stages of their cases, from the initial consultation through settlement negotiations, trial, and appeal. When not fighting for injured victims or people facing criminal charges, I spend my time enjoying Colorado’s outdoors, including rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing, and fly fishing.  I am also a licensed motorcyclist.

Steven J German

Par homeis
Dashed border

Steve started his career at a large downtown law firm in Phoenix, Arizona, and enjoyed excellent litigation training and insight into how insurance companies and other large corporations operate and defend against lawsuits alleging bad-faith and other claims of wrongdoing. His passion, however, has always been protecting individual rights, and in 1999 he started his own law firm doing just that. By 2003, he and Danny Adelman joined forces and formed Adelman German – A Law Firm, and ever since they have been fighting tirelessly for those who are the most vulnerable. Steve devotes his entire practice to representing people who are typically at the lowest point in their life. He treats each client individually and ensures their unique needs are met, and encourages each of them to not give up hope or feel like they are fighting alone. Steve’s goal is to embolden his clients, and prove to them that their lives are not over, that they can overcome their difficulties, and that there are people who care and will fight to give them every opportunity to recover. Going against insurance companies that are worth billions and have all the resources available to them, requires drive, skill and tenacity. Insurance companies hold all the cards, and often prey on those most vulnerable to boost their profits. We stand toe-to-toe, and are not intimidated. We prepare each case as if it will go to trial, use the latest technology and find the finest experts as we prosecute our clients' lawsuits. Steve and his firm’s greatest joys come after seeing a client overcome feelings of defeat, and the confidence that is instilled knowing they stood up against a powerful insurance company and won what they are rightfully owed. Steve and his law firm’s practice is not only devoted to victims of insurance wrongdoings, but also to individuals and surviving families of catastrophic accidents, including car, truck, motorcycle, and SUV rollover and tread-separation accidents. He and his law firm have successfully litigated and taken many cases to trial in insurance bad faith lawsuits, and cases involving birth-injury, medical and podiatry malpractice, nursing home neglect, and other tort-related cases.  He has recovered tens of millions against disability insurance companies with many multi-million settlements and verdicts, including a recent jury verdict of over $6.5 Million in September 2017. His law firm offers free consultations to others victimized by insurance bad-faith practices, birth-injury and catastrophic personal injury and accident matters. Steve can be reached at steve@adelmangerman.com or on his direct line at 480-626-2700.

I have been practicing plaintiff-side ERISA law since beginning my practice in 2005. I have only ever wanted to represent claimants because I believe in helping people. I have practiced in Illinois, North Carolina and now, California. It has been my great pleasure to assist so many over the years get the benefits they need and deserve. One of the best apsects of my practice is making the call to a client to let them know we have won their appeal and their benefits will be reinstated. Seeing the impact this has on my clients is wonderful. I make it a daily practice to remain mindful of the difficult situation my clients are experiencing - illness, financial loss, stress - and I work hard to be a supportive member of a team of people at Kantor & Kantor, LLP working to get their benefits awarded or restored. I make myself available to my clients because I know that they need to be able to reach the attorney working on their case.
