Description

Hope House Foundation is hiring a Fiscal Coordinator that will be located at our administrative office on Boush Street in Norfolk. The Fiscal Coordinator will be a part of the Accounting Team that supports 300 employees at 16 different locations in South Hampton Roads.


We are currently looking for an experienced payroll person to assist with the preparation of biweekly payrolls. Responsibilities include payroll, tax compliance, compensation, and benefits taxation. Specific responsibilities include inputting the accurate and timely data of all payroll-related information; retirement plan contributions; preparing and reconciling quarterly and year-end payroll tax reports, including W-2's, and implementing garnishments.


The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:30 am-4:30 pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manages the bi-weekly payroll process utilizing Paycom software for 300+ employees
  • Assists with month-end tasks including Flexible Benefits activity
  • Prepares Thrift Store reconciliation and calculates sales tax
  • Processes general ledger entries
  • Processes bank deposits and mortgage payments
  • Processes fund reconciliations
  • Processes monthly transfers
  • Manages the organization’s in-house and out of house loan program
  • Manages company vehicles including requisitions
  • Manages unclaimed property
  • Reconciles temporarily restricted funds
  • Serves as a backup to Accounts Receivable functions

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with yearly audit items
  • Updates/Creates procedures/policies
  • Trains new team leaders on all accounting procedures


Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of payroll processing software and services, e.g. Paycom, ADP.
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel, Word and Adobe
  • Attention to detail
  • A high degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • General office practices
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Accounts receivable
  • Accounts payable
  • General Ledger
  • Recordkeeping
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) and work collaboratively with all levels of employees and management
  • Manage time and prioritize work tasks effectively to meet deadlines
