How to get your documents attested from MoFAIC in the UAE
MoFA attestation in the UAE is (in most cases) a mandatory procedure to validate the authenticity of important certificates and documents required for visa, employment, study, medical or any other purposes. All UAE attestation services in the country, for documents issued outside or inside the UAE, are provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC), better known as MoFA UAE.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR MOFA ATTESTATION IN THE UAE?
MoFA attestation services in the UAE are extended to everyone who falls into the following categories:
- Citizens
- Residents
- Companies
- Investors
- Students
- Tourists
WHAT CERTIFICATES CAN THEY GET ATTESTED?
Certificate attestation in the UAE extends to a broad category of documents issued within and outside the country. The legalisation process, among other things, covers:
- Birth and death certificates
- Divorce contracts
- Educational certificates
- Marriage certificates
- Medical certificates
- Powers of attorney
- Commercial contracts and invoices
WHAT CONDITIONS APPLY FOR DOCUMENT ATTESTATION IN THE UAE?
Before you go out to get your documents attested by the UAE MoFA, here’s what you need to be careful about.
- All documents you submit must be original. The MoFA will not accept any photocopies or laminated documents
- The information included in the documents must be true
- Foreigners applying for document attestation by MoFA UAE must first get the same attested by the UAE Embassy or Consulate in their home country or the country of issuance
