How to deal with Job hunting depression

Looking for a new job but having no luck getting hired surely can be depressing and enough to put anyone demoralizing. On top of it if you are an international student and looking for a break through it is going to take you on an emotional and mental rollercoaster ride. 

Job hunting is indeed an intense process and of course this process seriously going to mess with your mood.

For most of us, our career is closely linked to our identity, and hence it becomes like a mission to build or look for missing part of our identity which eventually drives you to the restless path and this feeling does not let you get settled and feeling of letting others down comes along with it. 

Here are few steps which you should look for 

You are more than your career 

It's good to be ambitious with your career and hoping to land on the desired profile, you should always keep your best foot forward in this process but, Regardless of all facts One thing you should remember whatever the situation is you're above all the scenario remember the phrase Health is Wealth. Keep on trying but do not beat yourself up for the rejections you are facing.

Keep that in mind that your personality is made up of a wide range of experiences, interests and values enrich that as well, have other areas in your life that you can lean on as a source of joy and confidence, not just your employment status.  

Take a break 

Working overtime and pushing to the point of burnout will only increase the feelings of isolation and negativity. This can have an impact on both your mental health and your job hunt, It’s normal to feel additional stress and anxiety during the job search process but it’s also a difficult cycle to break.

So when you’re feeling down about your job search, take a break from sending constant application and reading out job profiles on various job board, sit back and relax for a while, enjoy some of “ME” time, have some tea coffee or event treat yourself with some nice wine if your fine with drinking.

Enjoy some of your favorite food try some activities which will help you to relax. It can be anything a walk in the park or sweating out session in the gym. Try all your options. Learn new skills or enhance the skills you have, try to dive into yourself for a while. The good news is these are proven ways to manage your mood during your job search, so you can rock your interviews and land a new role you love. All you need to do is take a break in between application and rejections. 

Stay social Stay connected 

Most of us would disconnect themselves from all social platforms going out with friends and being active on social media as well just to hide the current situation or career status. Being unemployed is not a crime or sin it is a phase of life it can happen to anyone you're not alone in this.

It's good to be around with your friends and family when your low talking and sharing always helps to clear your mind. Just asking a friend to join you for coffee can help.

Keeping human contact and real communication in your life can help you find new emotional strength during a difficult time.
